Thunderstorms!

Not to steal your thunder (heh) or anything, Becca, but we had a nice storm here last night as well. Probably not nearly as good as yours, but I did enjoy falling asleep to the sound of thunder rumbling and rain beating on the house...

... and we have a tornado watch this morning, so I'm expecting another good storm any minute now!

Yep. Lots of rain up here in NC. It poured buckets last night, lots of thunder, but thankfully no power outages, so I wasn't late for the Board meeting at work today. Whew! It cleared up for a while, but it's dark and lowering again, and it looks like it could pour any second.

Don't you just love a good storm? I always sleep better during a storm.

Remembrance...rain blowing sideways at BJ so that if you held your umbrella over your head, you got wet. But if you held it at 90 degrees to your body, you stayed perfectly dry. Ahhh...the good old days.

Today is just some kinda nasty. It's dropping about 4 degrees an hour (currently 36), windy enough to take your breath away, and rain just heavy enough to spit in your face and make it hurt. Yuck. I want the thunder back. And it was a lot more fun when I could stay in my house and watch it instead of trekking out to class in it.

36 degrees in April? And you wanted me to go to school there??? ;)

I used to want to be a tornado chaser. But I don't think my body could handle the schedule I would have to keep. (Not to mention the constant fast-food meals that I'm sure tornado chasers had to endure...)

There is not much cooler than to watch a tornado-sized storm build up especially when you live on a golf course in the flattest part of Oklahoma and have big picture windows that would be lethal if a tree branch came through them. There's so much power in a storm like that. We used to go outside and who could tough out the wind and flying debris the longest.
